Service award Bryan BlackDr. Bryan Black was recently recognized by the International Council for the Exploration of the Sea for his service through his leadership of a group of scientists from across the world. Dr. Black is an associate professor whose research is determining the influence of climate on marine and terrestrial ecosystems. He recently completed a position as Chair of the Workshop on Growth-increment Chronologies in Marine Fish: climate-ecosystem interactions in the North Atlantic 2. During this endeavor he and his group members were extremely proactive in generating growth chronologies of fish that span multiple decades and can be used to better understand how climate variables, such as temperature, currents, or winds, affect biological processes in the world’s oceans. Congratulations Bryan!
