Earlier this spring Jace Tunnell, Director of the Mission-Aransas Reserve, helped 5th grade students from Shenzhen, China at BASIS International Shenzhen learn about environmental change processes occurring in estuaries.

Courtesy photo.The 'Skype' interview was led by their teacher, Ms. Danielle Martin, and focused on Texas water issues and other environmental impacts.
The students are in a physical geography class where they focusing on hydrology basics in addition to how humans impact the environment and how the environment can impact humans. The student’s researched different water issues and their solutions, which is how they connected with the Mission-Aransas Reserve. "It was an inspirational discussion and learning experience from opposite side of the world" said Jace Tunnell.
