2016 Summer Sea Stars Program Schedule
|Saturday, June 18th||Starfish Science||
Let’s discover the ins and outs of a starfish and learn real science! How do they move? What color are they? Where can we find them? Bring your creativity so you can design your own masterpiece to take home.
|Saturday, July 2nd||Hands-On-Habitat||
We will explore the outside Wetlands Education Center, and the inhabitants. There will be lots to see, touch and learn about during this program. Be prepared to be inspired!
|Saturday, July 16th||Blue Crab Bonanza||
Join us for a Blue Crab Bonanza with stories, encounters, and crafts galore. We will explore the fun features of the blue crab, watch them move in the water, and get a chance to feel one! Break out of your shell and join us for the excitement!
|Saturday, August 6th||In My Ocean||
We all share the same big blue ocean! Join us to learn what lives in our ocean and why we love it so. We will visit our aquaria exhibits and be up close with some of our marine critters. We look forward to SEAing you there.
2016 Summer Estuary Explorers Program Schedule
|Saturday, June 25th||Seagrass Science||Seagrasses are submerged plants that serve many important purposes in our bays and estuaries. During this program we will learn, touch and explore these inspiring plants. You will also have a chance to win a prize during “Seagrass Bingo.” We look forward to SEAing you there.
|Saturday, July 9th||Fish Adaptations||Join us and get up close and personal with local fishes. How do their mouth, body, and tail shapes help them survive in the estuary? There will be lots to see, touch and learn about during this program. Be prepared to be inspired!
|Saturday, July 30th||Hands-On-Habitat||Come and explore our unique “Wetlands Education Center” right here in Port Aransas. We will venture on and in between sand dunes, learn about our salt marshes, and experience hands-on excitement with animals and plants. We will have fun while learning about our bays and estuaries!
|Saturday, August 13th||What is a Watershed?||There is water all around us, in the bays, lakes, and rivers! Where does it come from and where does it go? It moves through our environments, taking everything on the land with it, including pollution. We will take a closer look at a watershed model, and also make our own, so that we can learn how to protect our watersheds. We look forward to SEAing you there!
