Volunteer Appreciation NicolePringleMarci Voorhees owner of TheHorsesGlass 20160220Volunteer Coordinator, Nicole Pringle, shows off her original art with instructor Marci Voorhees, owner of "The Horses Glass."Last Saturday, The University of Texas Marine Science Institute (UTMSI) and Mission-Aransas Reserve hosted a volunteer appreciation event. The program featured Marci Voorhees, owner of "The Horses Glass," who will lead the participants in a step-by-step lesson to paint a one-of-a-kind glass piece. Refreshments helped to fuel the creativity. Volunteers are essential to maintaining and supporting the education and stewardship programs at UTMSI. There are currently around 100 active volunteers that help out in a wide variety of programs ranging from caring injured wildlife at the Animal Rehabilitation Keep to leading tours at the Wetlands Education Center. This event was a fun opportunity for The University of Texas Marine Science Institute to show our sincere appreciation for all of the hard work donated to helping us advance the knowledge of and stewardship for our estuaries and blue water oceans.

Thank you Volunteers!
