Shore and Beach Meeting
Last week, we were pleased to host the annual symposium for the Texas Chapter of American Shore and Beach. This years’ symposium focused on “Texas Shorelines –Bays to Beaches.” Scientists, engineers and representatives from coastal cities came together to share their knowledge on a broad range of coastal issues related to changes in Texas coastal ecology, science, engineering, economics, and policy. Presentations were given on issues such as beach nourishment, Cedar Bayou, and dune management. You can visit the Texas Chapter of American Shore and Beach to review the PowerPoint presentations. (Presentations will be uploaded shortly; click on the link below.)
The Texas Chapter of the American Shore & Beach Preservation Association mission is to preserve, restore, and protect the shorelines of the Texas Coast for future generations to enjoy by bringing together individuals, coastal professionals and academics, property owners, government entities, and groups in finding solutions.
A special thanks goes to lead organizers from the Mission-Aransas Reserve, Jace Tunnell and Dana Sjostrom as well as the Texas Chapter ASBPA representative Cris Weber, Senior Coastal Engineer at Freese and Nichols, Inc.
