This 3.6-acre wetland includes a trail with interpretive signage to help visitors learn about local coastal habitats. This site is ADA-compliant and gives students and visitors alike a hands-on experience in wetlands. It is the only center of its kind in the State of Texas. Come during a free guided tour, and you will learn about the special plants and animals of our local wetlands. Self-guided walks are also open to the public.

Park in our parking lot at 855 East Cotter Avenue and follow the gravel path.

Free public guided tours are offered every Tuesday and Thursday at 9:00 AM and run for approximately 45 minutes to one hour. Please meet your guide at the tarpon statue in front of the Patton Center.
Please note: Tours will be canceled for the entire month of June 2025 due to UT Summer Science programs.
