Programs made possible through grants from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration for the Mission-Aransas Reserve program with matching support from The University of Texas at Austin.
Wetlands Education Center Tours (Port Aransas)
WHAT This 3.6-acre wetland trail includes interpretive signage along the trails to help visitors learn about the local coastal habitats. This site is ADA-compliant and gives students and visitors alike a hands-on experience in wetlands. It is the only center of its kind in the State of Texas. Come during a free guided tour, and you will learn about the special plants and animals of our local wetlands. Self-guided walks are also open to the public.
WHERE 855 East Cotter Avenue, Port Aransas, TX 78373. Park in our parking lot at 855 East Cotter Avenue and follow the gravel path.
GUIDED TOURS Public guided tours are available for FREE every Tuesday and Thursday. Tours begin at 9am and last 45 minutes to 1 hour. Please meet your guide at the front station in the WEC, at the Wetlands Education Center trailhead.

Science on a Sphere Programs (Bay Education Center in Rockport)
WHAT Visitors are invited to experience Science On a Sphere® to learn about Earth’s oceans, land, atmosphere, and planetary neighbors. Created by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, this spherical display system illustrates global patterns like ocean circulation, weather, planetary movements, and climate impacts. Enhance your visit with an exhibit scavenger hunt and a hands-on activity that brings these concepts to life. The Bay Education Center features exhibits and is open Tuesday–Saturday from 10 AM to 4 PM.

GROUP TOURS (Adults) Groups of 10 to 50 visitors interested in a special screening of Science On a Sphere are encouraged to schedule a private tour.
Public Lecture Series (Port Aransas)
WHAT The public lecture series are presentations of research and programs by scientists. All lectures are free and specially prepared for the public and occur from January – March.

WHEN Thursday evenings January – March, doors open at 6:30 pm with lecture starting at 7pm

Winter Texan Programs (Rockport)
WHAT The Winter Texan Programs are free, nature-inspired craft sessions. These engaging and creative activities are designed to be both fun and educational, offering a unique way to explore and connect with nature.
