Films, range in time from 10 – 30 minutes, and are followed by a 15-20 minute, facilitator led, group discussion every Monday & Wednesday at 3 p.m. in the UTMSI Auditorium.

Monday, Mar. 2, 2015 – Texas the State of Water, Finding a Balance. Narrated by Walter Cronkite. The program explores how the demand for water will grow dramatically in years to come, and weighs the impact that growth will have on the state. Film by TPWD.

Wednesday, Mar. 4, 2015 - Dealing with Drought. A look at how the City of Corpus Christi is working to secure water for the future.
Prescription to Burn. Fire is an important and often overlooked tool used to manage and even restore natural landscapes. Films by TPWD.

Monday, Mar. 9, 2015 - Diggin’ School. See how school children learn to construct a “Wildscape” using native plants to create an attractive landscape that requires little watering. Forests of the River Bottom. An in depth examination of how natural flooding cycles are an integral part of the bottomland hardwood forests. Films by TPWD.

Wednesday, Mar. 11, 2015 - Texas the State of Springs. Narrated by Walter Cronkite, examines the alarming decline of Texas’ natural springs and addresses the current issues that directly impact spring flow and what can be done to save these vital resources. Film by TPWD.

Monday, Mar. 16, 2015 - In Land We Trust. Sprawling growth in Texas threatens farm and ranch lands, fracturing wildlife habitat. But the growing land trust movement offers new hope for families interested in preserving their land.

Wednesday, Mar. 25, 2015 – Ocean Frontiers II A New England Story for Sustaining the Sea. Off the shore of New England, in a region steeped in old maritime tradition, comes a modern wave of big ships, energy industries, and a changing climate, now testing the limits of an already crowded sea. Monday, Mar. 30, 2015 - Play Again. This documentary follows six teenagers who, like the “average American child,” spend five to fifteen hours a day behind screens. Play Again unplugs these teens and takes them on their first wilderness adventure – no electricity, no cell phone coverage, no virtual reality. Film by Ground Productions.
