Green Thread Thelesperma filifolium Courtesy Melody Lytle Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower CenterNamed for the threadlike leaves that give this plant a delicate appearance, green thread is actually one tough plant. This drought and salt tolerant wildflower provides beauty in harsh coastal environments throughout most of the year. Photo courtesy: Melody Lytle, Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center.Plants that are native to our area provide many benefits to the environment. Join us to expand your knowledge of local plants, participate in hands-on planting activities, and prepare to be stewards of the future! The stewardship fun doesn’t stop there. We will provide peat pots, potting soil and wildflower seeds so that everyone can plant something to take home! This program is designed for all ages, so kids bring your adults with you. SEA you there!
Location: The University of Texas Marine Science Education Center, 855 East Cotter Avenue, Port Aransas TX 78373
