What: Each summer, children 7-16 years discover the joy of birding by participating in the class "Birding 101 for Kids." These introductory classes are designed to teach students the fundamentals of bird identification and at the same time give them a greater understanding of their local environment. Students will learn:
- How to use binoculars
- Bird identification with a strong focus on field marks
- Eat like a bird
- Make a bird feeder and sketch a bird or plant just like the famous ornithologist, James Audubon

Other: Students are asked to bring their own binoculars if possible, but we have several to loan out on a first-come basis. Please dress for the weather and wear sunscreen, hat etc. This classes is for children 7-16 years of age. Classes are free and pre-registration required. Required information for registration includes: Student name, age of student, binoculars yes/no, parent or guardian name, telephone number, photo release waiver, and email address. **Parents are welcome to stay, or drop off their kids. **Pick up and drop off are in the same location.
