This May 11, 2021, the University of Texas Marine Science Institute will reopen its Wetlands Education Center for free, guided tours on Tuesday and Thursday at 9 a.m. The Center was closed for several years due to hurricane repairs and then a pandemic closure. 

The Wetlands Education Center is an ADA compliant 3.6-acre wetland will allow visitors to stroll through seagrass, salty marsh plants, and dunes. Come during a free guided tour and you will learn about the special plants and animals of our local wetlands. Tours are limited to 15 individuals. Participants should meet at the University of Texas Marine Science Visitor Center (855 East Cotter Ave., Port Aransas, Texas 78373)
