Giving to the Institute is an investment in the future for the Texas Gulf Coast, global oceans, and the sea life that inhabits those waters. Your gifts help us achieve our important goals in research, education, and outreach.  Every gift matters, no matter its size, and there are many ways to contribute.

Online Giving

The Online Giving website is a secure, safe way to make gifts using your credit card. The website allows you to tell us how your gift is to be used at the Marine Science Institute.  You may also give by mail making checks payable to The University of Texas at Austin, to the address below. Please provide your full name and address, so that we can properly acknowledge your gift and send you a tax receipt.  Let us use your gift where it's needed most, or tell us your preference:

Planned Gifts

Planned gifts can be made now or deferred to a later time. Some enable you to support the Marine Science Institute, receive tax benefits, and sustain your current lifestyle. Such gifts include bequests through a will, retirement plan assets, and charitable trusts.

Endowments

When you create an Endowment, you can honor someone important to you while providing permanent support to the Marine Science Institute. The money is invested, and each year a distribution is made from the endowment to support the program or area of your choice.

Matching Gifts

You may be able to double or even triple your gift to the Marine Science Institute. Many employers sponsor matching gift programs to match charitable contributions made by their employees. To find out if your company does, check Matching Gifts or visit your company’s human resources department. Forms are also available by contacting The University of Texas Marine Science Institute.

In-Kind Gifts

Gifts in-kind are non-monetary items of tangible property or other physical assets that represent value. Some examples are property, stock, art collection.
